Terms of Use for the VDO Hub Web Portal (hereinafter "Terms of Use")

Section 1 General description of the VDO Hub database

Thank you for choosing our VDO Hub web platform, which is provided by Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH (hereinafter "Continental").

The VDO Hub platform helps you to easily find and manage VDO’s workshop-relevant web tools. The web links for the tools are stored in the tool and you can save your unique login data for each tool.

Section 2 Use of the VDO Hub platform

Use of the VDO Hub platform requires the following:

  • You have logged in with the access and password e-mailed to you.
  • You have agreed to the terms of use, which you should read carefully in advance.
You are obliged to enter all the information truthfully when registering and to inform Continental immediately through the web platform of any subsequent changes.

2. Security when using the VDO Hub platform
After each use, the VDO Hub platform must be exited via “Logout.” If you become aware that third parties are misusing your user details, inform Continental immediately in writing, if necessary with a simple e-mail first.

Keep your password confidential to protect your access. You are responsible for all activities in and relating to your access. If at all possible, do not also use your access password for third-party services.

You can request in writing the deletion of your access at any time providing that this is not precluded by any transactions as part of ongoing contractual relationships or legal regulations. Continental will delete all user details and any other personal data relating to the user. Further information about how your personal data is handled when you use VDO Hub can be found in the footer "Data Protection Notice for Users".

3. Accessing VDO Hub
To use the platform, you must be logged in.

You can gain access by registering via the platform homepage.

Once you have registered, you can log in directly using the login data sent to you.

Using VDO Hub:

When you have logged into the tool, you can immediately view all available VDO web tools. Tools which do not require login data can be used immediately. Tools which require their own login data are grayed out until the login data has been saved in “VDO Hub.” Once this is done, the corresponding tiles become active and can be used.

This gives you an easy overview of the tools and allows you to open them directly without having to log in again.

4. Saving the tool login data
To save a login for a web tool (e.g. VDO Academy), open the “Log in” tab.

There you will find an overview of the available tools and can select the desired tool.

Once you have done this, you can store your data there.

This data is then saved and you can use the link via the tile.

Section 3 Amendments to the Terms of Use

Continental may amend these Terms of Use or any additional conditions for the VDO Hub web platform reasonably, e.g. to reflect changes to the legal framework or our service, so make sure that you check these Terms of Use regularly. We will notify you of any amendments to these Terms of Use on this page.

We will notify you of any amendments to additional conditions within the relevant service. Amendments do not apply retroactively and do not take effect until at the earliest 14 days after their announcement. However, amendments made in response to a new function for a service or for legal reasons are effective immediately. If you do not agree to the amended Terms of Use for a service, you will no longer be able to use this service.

Section 4 Liability

The information provided on the VDO Hub platform about any products and services made available can be changed or updated by Continental at any time without prior notice. The web platform does not contain any guarantees or statements of quality for which Continental is liable, whether expressly or implicitly. Similarly, Continental makes no guarantee that the information provided is up-to-date, correct or complete and assumes no responsibility for its quality. The user shall not manipulate the database and shall use it only as intended.

Claims by the user for compensation for damages that may arise in relation to the use of the database and its contents are excluded. This exclusion does not include claims for compensation of damages arising from injury to life, limb or health or the liability for other damages due to a willful or grossly negligent breach of a duty by Continental, its legal representatives or agents. In the event of a breach of material contractual obligations, Continental is only liable for the foreseeable and direct loss typical of this type of contract if this was been caused by simple negligence. Material contractual obligations are those that need to be fulfilled to achieve the object of a contract. These limitations of liability shall also apply in favor of Continental’s legal representatives and agents if claims are asserted directly against them. This without prejudice to the provisions of the Produkthaftungsgesetz (German Product Liability Act).

Section 5 Choice of law and venue

These Terms of Use are subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany under exclusion of the conflict of laws. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods of April 11, 1980 (UN Sales Convention) is excluded.

Sole venue for all disputes arising from or associated with these Terms of Use is Hanover, Germany.

Section 6 Online dispute resolution

Information concerning online dispute resolution can be found at the following link on the website of the European Commission: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. This link is provided for information purposes only in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 524/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Continental is neither willing nor obligated to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Section 7 Severability clause

Should individual provisions of these terms of use prove to be invalid in full or in part, then this shall not affect the validity of the rest of the contract. The statutory provisions shall replace the invalid provision.
